What is day camp?
Camp DescriptionsThanks for your interest in day camp!!!
Bible hour will be taught by college & teen students by the Camp Good News Summer Staff. This program trains teens to lead Bible clubs around the Fargo/Moorhead area. General care for the children will be provided by teens and college students who have received Camp Good News training. We maintain a staff/child ratio of 1 to 8 for ages 6-8 and 1 to 10 for ages 9-12.
Camp Descriptions
Below is brief description of each camp that we offer.
ARTS & CRAFTS
Each day will feature an arts & crafts project as well as an opportunity to learn about painting, drawing, etc.
BASKETBALL, Soccer, AND FLAG FOOTBALL CAMP
Each day will feature specific instruction in basketball, soccer, or flag football and an opportunity to enhance skills as well as play in team competition.
DETECTIVE CAMP
Test and learn crime solving sills such as fingerprinting, interviewing, etc. as you solve the mystery of the week
DRAMA CAMP
Each day will feature an opportunity to learn about drama and acting as well as an opportunity to perform in front of the parent/guest audience at the end of the week.
ESCAPE ROOM
Following the escape room craze. Campers will solve an escape room first and then design their own escape room with their team.
GYMNASTICS
Get ready to jump, run, and tumble. Each day will feature specific instruction in the basics of gymnastics.
CRITTER CORNER
Learn about God’s awesome creatures. This camp will feature a trip to Harvest Hope Farm and will give campers a chance to learn about farm animals, including the farm’s llamas. Other days the campers will learn about creatures in the wild as they hike and explore the world around them.
STEM
Explore the world of science and technology by learning to build and code robots, while learning basic science principles through interactive activities.
SPORTS SAMPLER #1
Each day features a different sport and an opportunity to receive instruction and play the selected sport of the day. Sports Sampler #1 features football, basketball, volleyball and soccer.
Basic Cooking
Learn the basics of cooking from a recipe. Basic snacks and foods will be made (and eaten) throughout the week.
Summer’s Not Over
A week for kids who have attended at least one week of camp during the summer. Activities chosen will be several of the camp themes that have already happened throughout the summer. We also have a couple of special adventures planned. Campers will be a part of choosing activities for the week.
Racquet/Club Sports
Each day will feature specific instruction in a racquet or club sport and an opportunity to enhance skills as well as play in team competition. Golf has been verified for one day, but other sports may include Tennis, Pickleball, Badminton, Ping Pong, Racquetball, Bowling, or Croquet.
